Gameplay
Each turn consists of two phases: Attack Phase and Draw Phase.
Attack Phase
During an attack phase players can lay down one character card and one item card from their hand per turn. A character card cannot attack in the same turn it was played onto the field. Each character on the field can be used to attack once per attack phase.
If your opponent has character(s) on the field, you can choose which character to attack. Each character has an Attack and Defense power number assigned at the top left and right of the cards picture.
When attacking an opponents character, compare your Attack versus their Defense. If your Attack is greater than their Defense you destroy that character and it gets sent to your opponents discard pile and the difference between your Attack and your opponents Defense is how much damage you deliver to your opponents health points. Example if you have 8 Attack and they have 6 Defense, you would destroy your opponents character and do 2 damage to their health points.
If your Attack is equal to or less than their Defense you injure that character and their character card will get turned horizontal to signify they are injured. Injured characters will be destroyed on the next attack they receive, regardless of Attack vs Defense. Legendary cards must be attacked 3 times before being destroyed and after the second attack should be turned upside down to signify it has been attacked twice.
If your opponent does not have any characters on the field, you may attack the opponents health points directly, inflicting 100% of your Attack power.
If it is your attack phase, you may equip an item to any existing character on the field and the item will be discarded if the character holding the item is destroyed.
Draw Phase
Draw one card from your deck at the end of your turn.
End Turn
Once the Attack and Draw Phases are complete, your turn ends, and the opponent's turn begins.
Misc.
If a player runs out of cards, they can decide to either reshuffle their discard pile or forfeit.
